Afforestation Drive under National Service Scheme (NSS) by Institute of Technology & Science on March 20th, 2024

A plantation drive was organized by I.T.S. Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad on 20th March 2024. John Keats ones said “The poetry of the earth is never dead”.Students of I.T.S. Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad inculcate this perspective and in order to save earth from global warming and human deeds like afforestation students planted trees in their campus area and the surroundings. Students brought different types of saplings and planted them in the campus. Plants are important part of nature and for survival also. The ability of plants to control pollution and rejuvenate nature teaches us to plant more trees. Prof. Amit Sharma Coordinator of the NSS said “We get oxygen and other components from nature which are necessary to survive so we should celebrate and thank mother earth and nature for giving us so many things, it’s our duty to at least plant trees in return and maintain sustainable development for the upcoming generations. Such little steps taken together by the school and students will surely help in fostering strong mental and social health amongst today’s children so that they connect with their peers, their elders, their community and their environment. Total 50 students participated in the events from all years of BBA and BCA.

Meal Distribution for the Under- Privileged under National Service Scheme (NSS) by Institute of Technology & Science on 21/03/2024

Under NSS Programme, food packets were distributed at the slum areas of Vasundhara sector – 02 & 06. NSS student volunteers as well as faculty members organized the meal distribution program to ensure that the entire activity runs smoothly. Food packets were distributed to the under-privileged children as well as slum-dwellers. The objective of meal distribution in underprivileged areas is to provide nutritious food to individuals and families who may not have access to regular meals due to economic hardship or other challenges. This initiative aims to address food insecurity, improve nutritional intake, and support the overall well-being of the community. By distributing meals, organizations and volunteers can help alleviate hunger, promote health, and foster a sense of community support among vulnerable populations.

A Visit to Startup Mahakumbh took place at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on March 20th, 2024

The idea of the visit was to expose the young minds to the current economic environmental trend and develop a thrust towards entrepreneurship and start up. Students of BBA 2nd year, BBA 3rd Year and BCA 3rd Year participated in the visit. Thoughtfully envisioned as a pioneering event, Startup Mahakumbh was organised by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom), Bootstrap Incubation & Advisory Foundation, Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA). The event witnessed the participation from more than 1000 high-potential start-ups from India and the globe, with key global and Indian stakeholders such as unicorn start-ups, global and domestic venture capitalists, corporate, and industry leaders also participating. After the visit of start-ups students visited Bharat Mandapam. The Bharat Mandapam - Convention Centre is a world-class facility equipped with modern infrastructure and technology, suitable for hosting conclaves, summits, meetings, cultural events, and congregations. The convention centre comes with dedicated VIP and guest lounges and five-star catering services to support events of up to 7000 persons in a single format. The complex surrounded by a beautifully landscaped plaza with a musical fountain. The event was planned in a very systematic way which was followed by the online registration process. Only registered participants were allowed to enter. The start-up Mahakumbh was organized in hall no. 4 and 5 where numerous start-ups participated. Our students were keenly visited start-ups and asked various questions to the participants. During the visit, the students exhibited lot of enthusiasm. After the visiting Start-up Mahakumbh and Bharat Mandapam, they were delighted. They gained a great vision of knowledge from this visit.

I.T.S UG Campus organized an alumni session for BCA batch (2023-26) students on March 16th, 2024

Reconnecting with the alumni by hearing about their journeys and experiences was the main goal of the session, which was titled "Opportunities & Challenges in IT: Expectations Vs. Reality”. The speaker of the session was Ms. Richi Gupta (2013–2016), Product Manager at ProProfs, Noida. Dr. Vidushi Singh in her welcome address expressed happiness at witnessing the student of I.T.S, Ghaziabad achieving greater heights in her career. Ms. Richi Gupta began by giving her introduction and current working status in ProProfs, Noida. She told us about her journey and what challenges she has faced till know in corporate world. Explaining the expectations vs reality in IT industry. She started her career as product analyst after BCA. She advised students that about various kind of jobs and opportunities they can seek in future in IT industry. She unveiled the myth of students that AI can never replace human. She told about various design tools available in the market these days like Canva, Adobe XD. The students can learn as there exist ample of opportunities in the IT world. Furthermore, she added how to handle work pressure and difficult situations in corporate world. She conducted SWOT Analysis of students related to their own personality and career. The speaker responded patiently and thoroughly to the students' questions and concerns.

‘Literary Club’ at I.T.S Mohan Nagar UG Campus has organized a workshop on” SIX Sigma on Wednesday March 13th, 2024

The Six Sigma Workshop aimed to equip students of BBA and BCA with the knowledge and tools necessary to improve organizational efficiency and quality through the application of Six Sigma principles. The workshop focused on understanding the fundamentals of Six Sigma, DMAIC methodology, statistical analysis techniques, and practical implementation strategies. The students gained a comprehensive understanding of Six Sigma principles, including its histor ,key concepts and benefits for organization. Dr. Jaggi has very well explained The DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) Framework, emphasized its structured approach to problem solving and improvement. Students also learned about various statistical tools and techniques such as Pareto Chart, control charts, Process capability analysis. Effective project management techniques were discussed, including project selection criteria, stakeholder engagement, and project prioritization to ensure successful Six Sigma implementations. In the second half students have appeared for the online test and those who have cleared the exam were given yellow belt certificates. The Six Sigma Workshop provided participants with valuable knowledge and skills to drive process improvements and enhance organizational performance. By embracing Six Sigma principles and methodologies, participants are equipped to lead impactful changes within their respective organizations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and delivering greater value to customers.

Finance Club - Finanaza and IIC of I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad, UG campus organized ‘Business Plan Competition’ for the students of BBA and BCA on March 13th, 2024

The objective of this event was to nurture the entrepreneurial skills among students and to motivate them for generation of new and innovative ideas. Mr. Pawas Agarwal, Senior Business Associate - Equinox Global Services was the Judge of the Competition. 10 Teams from BBA and BCA participated in the competition and presented their innovative and impressive ideas. The students answered each and every question with confidence asked by the jury members. Mr. Pawas gave them feedback and also explained them how to check the technical, economic and financial feasibility of a business plan. He also told a story to make them learn to follow the ethical behavior in their business journey.

I.T.S. Mohan Nagar UG Campus BBC, Second Year Student, Mohd. Umar Ansari participated in the Best Out of Waste Competition at the annual fest Aloha’24 of Delhi Metropolitan Education (Affiliated to GGSIPU) on March 08th, 2024. The student awarded third position in the competition. He received a Trophy, Certificate and Cash Prize of Rs.1000.

I.T.S Mohan Nagar UG Campus Organized Industrial Visit to “Coca Cola – The Happiness Factory” on March 16th, 2024

The objective behind this industrial visit is to enable students to have an overview of the production process of the various beverages. During the visit Ms.Richa explained the entire production and bottling process of the different beverages like Coca- Cola, Maaza , Minute Maid, Fanta , Sprite , Thums Up etc.. She also explained the various CSR initiatives like UNNATI taken up by the company for the upliftment of farmers in the country . She also stated various interesting facts about the history of the company. Students from BBA & BCA along with faculty members were present in the session. Students and other participants actively interacted with the speaker for their queries related with the working of different machines and production process of the company.

IIC and E-cell Lakshya of ITS UG Campus, Mohan Nagar has organized an exposure visit to NewGen IEDC Incubation Centre at ITS Engineering College, Greater Noida on March 13th & 14th, 2024

The objective of the visit was to provide an exposure to the students regarding innovations and how they are incubated. The purpose was also to make them understand the process that a start-up goes through from ideation to execution. The IEDC Head Mr. Sudhanshu Ranjan explained about Incubation centre and the incubation process that consists of three stages - pre-incubation, incubation, and post-incubation. Pre-incubation activities include tenant selection and promotion. Incubation activities are divided into three stages, namely the early stages, development, and advanced stages. He also explained in great detail about the various policies of Government of India under which a start-up founder can apply for funds for prototype development, seed funding and the grants for running the incubation centre with curated ideas. Later, Mr. Shubham and Mr. Samiruddin both alumna of ITS, innovators and Founders of BigBlare Technologies Pvt. Ltd took the students to a visit of the incubation centre that had many innovative machines and equipment on display built by the engineering students. The innovations on display were Air Purifier made with waste products, Rice Chaffing machine, a Solar powered Sugarcane juice extraction machine, robo cleaner for high rise buildings, Blood Sugar detection machine without blood extraction, physiotherapy machine, rice age determination machine, portable EV battery charging console, ELMO an EV, remote operated driverless tractor, etc to name a few. Many of these products have received grants for commercial production and have been winners at start-up meets. The visit was very informative and was an eye opener to the students of IIC since they came back with great zeal and enthusiasm for developing their own start-ups. On Day 1, 45 students were accompanied by Dr. Yamini Negi & Dr. Neerja Anand- IIC Coordinators and on Day 2, 40 students were accompanied by Prof. Saroj Kumari & Prof. Ankur Sharma.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad in association with Environment and Social Development Association (ESDA) Delhi, and Dr. Swarn Chawla Memorial Foundation Delhi jointly organized Balika Utsav and an award ceremony (Mahila Shakti Puraskar and Women Achiever Award) at I.T.S Mohan Nagar Ghaziabad. The program delved into discussions on women's empowerment, women's rights, gender inequality, and menstrual hygiene-related health issues, aiming to create awareness and honor 42 exemplary women from various fields across the country who are actively contributing to the upliftment and empowerment of women in society. Dr. Jitendra Nagar, Program Coordinator and ESDA Chairman, highlighted in his welcome address that the event was organized to celebrate the Beti Bachao Andolan initiated by ESDA since 2005 and to promote Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, adopted by the United Nations in 2015. He emphasized the importance of gender equality as a fundamental human right and the cornerstone of a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world. The Beti Bachao Andolan's primary objectives include ending gender inequality, combating female foeticide, abolishing the dowry system, empowering women, and raising awareness of women's rights. Mrs. Sunita Dayal, the Honorable Mayor of Ghaziabad and the chief guest of the program, stressed the significance of such initiatives in raising awareness and empowering women. She advocated for the celebration of daughters every day and condemned discrimination between daughters and sons. Drawing reference to the film "Pad Man," she emphasized the need for greater awareness about menstrual hygiene, particularly in rural areas. Keynote speaker and guest, Suman Oscar, an Oscar Award winner and renowned advocate for menstrual hygiene, shared her journey and highlighted the challenges faced by women and girls, especially in rural areas, regarding menstruation-related issues. Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey, Director IT & UG, I.T.S Mohan Nagar, emphasized the importance of providing modern education to girls for their empowerment, emphasizing education as the key to progress and equality. Various other speakers, including Dr. Seema, District Food Supply Officer, Mr. J. P. Chawla, Chairman of Dr. Swarn Chawla Foundation, Mr. Raj Singh Bhati, Director of Galgotias University, and Ms. Nutan Bhati, Managing Director of Oxford Public School, emphasized the need for greater female participation in various sectors and the celebration of women's achievements every day. The event honored outstanding women such as Sunita Dayal, Ms. Suman Oscar, Dr. Seema PCS, Prof. Nancy Sharma, Dr. Kavita Khatana, Ms. Nutan Bhati, and others with Mahila Shakti Puraskar and Woman Achiever Awards, recognizing their significant contributions to women's empowerment. Dr. Kavita Khatana, Post Doctoral Fellow of Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence, expressed gratitude to all the guests, and Dr. Milan Yadav efficiently managed the stage. Cultural programs presented by students added vibrancy to the event.
