


I.T.S Mohan Nagar UG Campus organized a SYMPOSIUM on “Empowering Women – Creating Innovative Ecosystem” on the occasion of “International Women’s Day” to celebrate the achievements of women in all spheres of life, on the focal theme of #Break the Bias, “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” on 8th March 2022, Tuesday at zoom online platform at 9:45 am.
The event was inaugurated by Director UG –Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey ,Vice Principal – UG Prof. Nancy Sharma. The renowned guest speakers started the session by sharing their experiences with the audience Ms. Naaz Joshi India's first transgender International Beauty Queen, Miss Universe Diversity 2020, Miss World Diversity beauty pageant India's first Transgender Cover Model & A Trans Rights Activist. Ms. Richa Gaur Indian Martial Arts Player and Self-Defense Coach; Top 100 Women Achievers of India-2016 by Ex. President of India. Dr. Ranjana JoshiMiss India International Wheel Chair Beauty Crown (Malaysia)-2020 & Motivational Speaker Dr. Sangeeta Taneja Founder & Principal Interior Designer-Urban, Interiors; National President-,MENTORx Women; Mentor of Change-NITI Aayog, Govt. of India. The program was further followed by a Special addresses where Mr. Arpit Chadha -Vice Chairman I.T.S -The Education Group, congratulate all the women on the occasion & present his best wishes for future, Though Ms.Latika Chaddha -Lady Vice Chairman could not attend the session due to other commitments she sent her wishes to all the guests, faculties & participants, & a welcome address by Director UG –Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey & briefing of the event by Vice Principal – UG Prof. Nancy Sharma which marked the beginning of Session where all the guests shared their life time experiences & challenges faced by them in the initial stages of their carrier & how they overcome with the hurdles & reached to the peak of success.
On the same occasion they shared the tales of struggle and success. Further the speakers said, gender equality is very important for a healthy society. The milestone to be reached is the basic information for a girl child in every family education will during awareness among the society which will further result in overall development of nation and its community.
Objective – The objective was to raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among the students & to get inspired by the acts of courage and determination of all the ordinary women, struggles faced by them who are now leading an extraordinary life
Description- The discussion contained that girls should know their right to defend themselves and be careful against crimes against women. The theme (# Break the Bias )further elaborates that gender equality is very important for a healthy society. One can call out gender bias and inequality. The guests also focused on the fact that it was the time to uphold women's achievements, recognize challenges and focus greater attention on women's rights and gender equality to mobilize all people to do their best
The event was attended by all faculties, Course coordinators and chairpersons, Students & outside participation was also there and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.Vidushi Singh to Guests for their valuable time.
Observations / Learning for Improvements:
It was a life time experience to hear Women Achievers from different verticles of life. All the listeners got some very important life lessons like to seek out and celebrate the achievements of women's. Some of the females focused on the girls education & to be empowered so that they can take their decision freely. Every distinguished female shared their experience that how they become extraordinary in the lives by facing struggle & how they converted it into opportunities Faculty & students asked questions from the speakers & these distinguished guests replied very enthusiastically.
At times, your students are senior professors and one might feel a little overwhelmed to teach them specially on Technology. Prof Chanda Jain , Head Training and Placement ITS, college , Mohan Nagar took a session on “ Learner Centric Engaging Techniques for Online Courses” at Indira Gandhi National Open University , Maidan Garhi, New Delhi. Senior Professors from various central universities were presented. Session was mainly based how to engage students in online courses. Session was highly interactive and was appreciated.

The objective was to celebrate and get inspired by the acts of courage and determination of ordinary women, who are now leading an extraordinary life. The event was inaugurated by Directo rUG –Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey ,Vice Principal – UG Prof.Nancy Sharma. The esteemed guest speakers started the session by sharing their experiences with the audience Dr.Padmavat Bandhopadhayay(Padma Shree Air Marshal,PVSM,VSM( Retd.), Dr. Sarika Gupta(Robotic Gynecologist & Female Cancer Specialist),Ms. Santosh Yadav (Indian Mountaineer & Padma Shree Awardee (2000)),Ms. Anita Jha(Sr.Vice President, Sulabh International ), Ms. SaritaPathak(YajurvediRenowened Classical Music Vocalist-Rampur Gharana), Ms. Nisha Verma(Celebrity Chef & Finalist of Master Chef),Ms. Parul Vats(Mrs. India Beauty Queen 2019, Dentist at NHS ,UK), Ms. PragyaPranjali(Executive Director & Principal Scientist ), (Worked with UN for Women & Child rights), Ms. Preeti Pandey, (Social Activist & Founder-Dulari Foundation), Ms. Yogini Bapat , (Environmentalist -Eco Bricks Awareness Campaign),Ms. PayalManglik(Young Entrepreneur & Founder -Green Earth Organics). The program was further followed by a Special address by Mr.Arpit Chadha -Vice Chairman I.T.S -The Education Group, sent his wishes & heartfelt welcome address by Director UG –Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey& briefing of the event by Vice Principal – UG Prof.Nancy Sharma , she marked the beginning of Session 1 of the event “BARRIERS TO SCALE AND SUCCESS. In the Session 2, the topic of discussion was “CREATE A NEW WORLD FOR YOURSELF” which was discussed by exceptional personalities who has achieved fame , after facing a long struggle on the various arenas and possibilities of success for women in work field. The perimeter of discussion contained an important aspect such as, the long but untiring struggle women had to go through to finally mark their presence and achieve notable acceptance in the society which leads to a better world for them at least in current scenario .The theme (# Choose to Challenge )further elaborated on from challenge comes change. One can call out gender bias and inequality. To seek out and celebrate the achievements of women. Together we all can create an inclusive world. Some of the females focused on the girl’s education & to be empowered so that they can take their decision freely. The event was attended by all faculties, Course coordinators and chairpersons and concluded with a vote of thanks to Guests for their valuable time.
The Women Cell at I.T.S UG Campus is committed towards holistic development of the young women to attain emotional, physical and mental freedom to withstand the changing scenario throughout their life. In this Endeavor, a Session on मिशनशक्ति -नारीसुरक्षा, नारीसम्मान, नारीस्वावलंबीwas organized on 4th March 2021. The guest speaker for the session was Mrs Smita Singh,Regional Manager UPSID Cand Dr. Aruna Sharma, Head, Dept.of History, Director, women’s Studies Centre, GDM Girls PG College, Modinagar. Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey, Director UG cited an examples from ancient Hindu epic Ramayana that how 7000 years back also we were so progressive in terms of Women Empowerment,he briefed the role of Kaikeyi, Ahilya, Tillotama etc. DrSmita Singh put emphasis on how we can improve the working conditions of weaker section of the society which doesn't have all the privilege of life. She talked about women’s Economic Independence is the need of the hour, it helps a woman to take her own decision, look after her parents, her children and her family. She emphasized on providing with good quality education to girl and women’s from weaker sections to make them skilled and independent, also provide them with proper hygiene and facilities. Dr. Smita Singh who herself was a source of motivation for all the women she said that if we are determined and have our objectives & goals clear in our mind we will definitely achieve it one day. Dr. Aruna Sharma shared her views that the problem of gender inequality is not only limited to our country, It is worldwide. Dr.Aruna Sharma said that women should be aware about their rights she said that there is a need of more women cell in every Institute,So we should try to share our ideas and spread awareness she also gave the example of the article titled " can the subaltern speak " which conclude that we have to identify our potential, we have the cultural values, we have to understand them and become more aware so that a person from a different country don't take advantage of us like the Britishers did in the past. Prof. Nancy Sharma, Vice Principal, UG Campus concluded the session by giving her advice to be the change agent that you want to see, because you can only contribute to the society if you have something. She said that that we all help each other to grow so that we all become empowered. At least we must care our house-hold support for their financial and mental stability. It was a really inspiring and motivating session for all the women faculty members and students.
The objective behind this industry visit was to make the students familiar about networking domain.
Students of BCA 2nd, 4th and 6th Semester went on the Industrial Visit to Networker's CCIE. Total 49 students went for the visit. They were taught the basics of network and components of building a network. They got to know the steps which are required for a machine to access a webpage on the Internet. Students also got to know about the different protocols which are followed by device on a Network such as TCP and UDP. Overall it was a great experience.

In the second session, the topic of discussion was “BUILDING A FUTURE WITH WOMEN’S VISION” which was discussed by exceptional personalities who has achieved fame , after facing a long struggle on the various arenas and possibilities of success for women in work field. The perimeter of discussion contained an important aspect such as, the long but untiring struggle women had to go through to finally mark their presence and achieve notable acceptance in the society which leads to a better world for them at least in current scenario. The women are independent, successful, accepts challenges, prove them and become the torch bearers for others, which is an achievement in itself.
The event was attended by all faculties, Course coordinators and chairpersons and concluded with a vote of thanks to Guests for their valuable time.
