The motive behind this lecture was to provide the exposure to the students to the topic “Importance of Mathematics in Computer Application”. Mr. Arun Agarwal (Assistant Professor, DU) was the resource person for the session who emphasized on the importance of Mathematics in Computer Science as continuous mathematics is an important foundation for many Sciences and Engineering disciplines. Similarly, discrete mathematics and logic are the foundations for computer based disciplines. However, these essential foundation are often taught independently and relevant connections to computing, required to motivate the mathematics are usually not made. The session was very interactive as students asked a number of questions related to the career in the field of software testing and the speaker addressed all of their with citing real time experiences and experiences.
