Setting goals helps trigger new behaviour, helps guide the focus and helps to sustain that momentum in life. Goals also help align our focus and promote a sense of self-mastery. Mr. Archie Jackson, Sr Director and Head (IT and Security) Incedo Inc., speaker of the session gave an overview of the goal setting while addressing the students of BBA and BCA. He said that we are living in VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world where it is important to decide your short term goals and long term goals to succeed. Furthermore, the speaker emphasized the need to prioritize the tasks to achieve the desired result in time. He said that today we have professional counselors to guide us vis-a-vis the times when only parents would guide/ mentor their children towards the achievement of career related goals. He cited some real life examples from the industry and made the session interactive.
