A presentation on Indian Start-up/Unicorns titled Prastuti was organized by the E-Cell Lakshya under the IIC celebration activity (Institution’s Innovation Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on Oct. 15, 2023). Objective: The objective of the activity was to make the students aware of the various start-ups / unicorns of India, the societal needs they are catering to and the international exposure being received by the Indian Entrepreneurs. Description: A total of 55 students from BBA & BCA, 1st & 2nd year registered for the event out of which 45 students gave their presentation as individual or as a team. Each team/individual was allotted a time limit of 15 minutes for presenting their PowerPoint Templates. The students covered the Unicorns/Start-ups like Paytm & Pine Labs (Fintech), Zomato & Swiggy (Food Delivery), Flipkart, Purplle & Nykaa (e-commerce), Physicswallah (EdTech), Udaan (B2B Trading), Cred, OneCard, etc. The judgment was done on the basis of content coverage, communication, confidence, slide design and animation used. Three teams were adjudged the winners who were awarded with cash prize and certificate of merit. All other participants were given certificate of participation. Learning Outcomes: The entire event was full of insightful learnings for the participants as they learnt the business jargons like funding, seed capital, valuation, SWOT, strategy formulation, competition, etc. They also learnt many management principles like Time Management, Stress Management, use of verbal and non-verbal skills in communication, self-confidence, etc. while giving their presentations. The event also kindled the desire amongst the students to establish their own ideas into start-ups. Winner Details: First Position: Khushi Pandey & Shreya Sharma (BBA III Sem, Sec- C) Second Position: Ansh Sharma (BCA I Sem, Sec- E) Third Position: Pakhi Saxena (BBA III Sem, Sec- B) Cash Prize of Rs. 2100/-, 1500/- & 1100/- along with Certificates of Merit were awarded to the respective winners.
