A Campus visit was organized by “Disha” – The Social Service Club (UG Campus) in association with Robin Hood Academy, a zero funds volunteer-based organisation.  The purpose of the visit was to bridge the gap between the street and schools, by giving the underprivileged children the tools and knowledge to go to school. We, at “Disha” firmly believe that creating access to education is the purest form of nation building. Every child on the streets of our cities should have the opportunity to a better life.

This Republic Day, we intended to create excitement within the underprivileged students to pursue higher education and prevent them from dropping out of schools along with bonding with the youth of the community that is I.T.S students of BBA/BCA.

The underprivileged children visited I.T.S along with volunteers of Robin Hood Academy and they were welcomed by students of I.T.S at the main entrance. After refreshments and an introductory session conducted by Prof. Megha Sharma, Prof. Sumit Sharma and Prof. Amit Sharma, the children indulged in various sports activities at the I.T.S sports complex, like Badminton, Carrom & chess. Post that, the children were taken to the library where a book reading session was conducted. Lunch was served at the Boy’s Hostel mess, where the children enjoyed their meals. Post lunch session was scheduled at the Lab – 01, UG – I. Children made tricolour flag on Microsoft paint application and also enjoyed LAN gaming too.

The visit concluded with the Director (U.G) and Vice-Principal (U.G) interacting with the children and presenting mementos to the children and the volunteers. The volunteers of Robin Hood Academy expressed their gratitude towards the I.T.S management for planning & executing a wonderful & memorable trip for the under privileged children. They also expressed their desire to be associated with I.T.S in future to conduct such philanthropic activities.

This visit will help the underprivileged children dream bigger and motivate them to pursue higher education. They will get brighter and bigger picture of being educated. I.T.S students were able to interact with the underprivileged children and motivate them to not to drop out of school and rather fulfil their dreams through education.
