I.T.S Mohan Nagar UG Campus organized a SYMPOSIUM on “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for gender equality Embrach Equity” on the occasion of “International Women’s Day” to celebrate the achievements of women in all spheres of life, on the focal theme on 4th March 2023, Saturday at zoom online platform at 11:00 am. The event was inaugurated with the Welcome address by Vice Principal – UG Prof.Nancy Sharma Where Ma’am talked about the challenges faced by women in society, She also added that a woman is a most powerful and beautiful creation of God. Behind our existence, there’s a woman. But somewhere in our societies, women are still underestimated and believed to be weaker than men. This is high time when we should recognize the power of women and help them to prove to the world that they can do anything they want to do. DirectorUG –Dr. Sunil Kumar Pandey, Welcome all the eminent guests with his motivational words based on the Women’s day theme. He said that today’s woman is no longer a dependent soul, she is Independent and self-reliant in every respect and is capable of doing everything. Let’s recognize the importance of their existence and motivate them for future achievements. The esteemed guest speakers started the session by sharing their experiences with the audience, starting with Ms. Priyashree Pal (ACP at the Varanasi Commissionerate, Government of Uttar Pradesh)Global women Achiever Awardee and ACP at Varanasi, Dr. NavanaKundu, Entrepreneur, Author & Motivational TEDX Speaker,Authors, and awardees of “Excellence in Meditation", "India Authors Award", and "Top 50 Influential Authors of 2021”, Dr.Neerja Sharma (Renowned Kathak Dancer),Founder, Director, CEO (Director of National Institute of Indian Classical Dance), Dance Educator at NirmalBhartia School, Ms. AkanshaRana, Legal advisor in MMTC, Ltd & Author of Consumer Claims, Ms. Yogini Bapat (Environmentalist)Eco Bricks Awareness Campaign and Founder of BE- Live & Recently Honored by Governor of Bengal, Ms. Swati Mehra (HR Process Analyst,Shell), Ms. Shivani Malhotra, (Entrepreneur & State President WICCI- Haryana Human Resource Council), Dr. Sarika Gupta (Renowned Gynecologist)Robotic Gynecologist & Female Cancer Specialist, Clinical Fellowship- Florida Cancer Institute, Florida, USA The objective was to celebrate and get inspired by the acts of courage and determination of ordinary women, who are now leading extraordinary life. The discussion contained an important aspect such as the long but untiring struggle women had to go through to finally mark their presence and achieve notable acceptance in society which leads to a better world for them at least in the current scenario. All the women achievers were inspirations in themselves. The discussion started with the level of equality where it was discussed that more burden is always given to the females in comparison to Males in the family. They further added that females must be Tech savvy so that they don’t have to be dependent on males for their work, In addition to that It was said that society still in a need to work on changing the mindsets of the people to empower women. However, the digital World & Innovation can balance the inequality of women through some new gaps which are emerging in the recent trends that society has to look into. In addition to the above, it was suggested by one of the speakers that Women & Technology are a deadly combination we must try to get something better for the empowerment of women in society . They said that women are never taken seriously their thoughts must have listened. The session was concluded by focusing on changing the mindsets of the male society & It must start Inculcated from Childhood, every girl should motivate themselves & ready to face every challenge. The event was attended by faculty members, students from I.T.S Institute,& participants from different countries and concluded with a vote of thanks to Guests for their valuable time.
