The fourth day of the Six-Day Faculty Development Programme commenced with a formal inaugural session led by Dr. Nancy Sharma, Principal, UG Campus, Institute of Technology and Science, Ghaziabad. She warmly welcomed the resource persons and participants and emphasized the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence in transforming higher education, research, and innovation. The session was also graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Kr. Pandey, Director (IT PG), Institute of Technology & Science, Ghaziabad, who encouraged the participants to actively engage in the practical sessions and explore AI technologies for enhancing academic excellence and research productivity. The first technical session was delivered by Dr. Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Professor & Head, Department of Mathematics, Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, on the topic "Artificial Intelligence in Research & Education." The session provided a comprehensive overview of Artificial Intelligence, its evolution, and its applications in teaching, learning, and research. Dr. Sharma explained the role of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Generative AI in modern research. He demonstrated how AI can assist in personalized learning, intelligent tutoring, automated assessment, literature review, research writing, data analysis, and scientific publishing. The session also introduced participants to advanced AI research tools such as Semantic Scholar, Elicit, ResearchRabbit, ChatGPT, Claude, SciSpace, and Zotero AI, while highlighting the importance of Explainable AI (XAI), ethical AI practices, transparency, academic integrity, and responsible use of AI in research. The second session was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) Anuradha Chug, Professor & Dean, Student Welfare, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, on "AI for Good Research & Design – Hands-on." This practical session introduced participants to several AI-powered tools that enhance research and academic productivity. Hands-on demonstrations included Google AI Studio for prompt engineering and content generation, Orange Data Mining for visual analytics and machine learning workflows, Claude AI for data analysis and email summarization, machine learning model development, AI-assisted website creation, and Google Meet Attendance tools for automated attendance management. Participants actively explored these tools and learned how AI can simplify research, improve teaching efficiency, automate routine academic tasks, and support ethical research practices. The programme concluded with an interactive discussion and question-answer session, where participants exchanged ideas on integrating AI tools into teaching, research, and institutional activities. The day concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Vidushi Singh, Dean Academics, UG Campus, who expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished resource persons, dignitaries, organizing committee, and all participants for making the sessions highly informative and engaging. She encouraged everyone to continue exploring AI-driven innovations to promote excellence in education, research, and professional development.
