


The Institute of Technology & Science (I.T.S.), Mohan Nagar –UG Campus successfully organized a one-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Case Teaching & Case Writing" on 29th June 2026 with the objective of enhancing the pedagogical competencies and research capabilities of faculty members through the case method of teaching. The Resource Person for the FDP was Prof. (Dr.) A.K.Puri, an eminent academician and expert in management education. During the sessions, Prof. Puri shared his vast experience and provided comprehensive insights into the philosophy, design, development, and classroom implementation of case studies. The FDP covered several important aspects, including: • Understanding the concept and significance of case-based teaching. • Difference between case teaching and traditional lecture methods. • Characteristics of an effective teaching case. • Steps involved in identifying, developing, and writing quality teaching cases. • Framework for case analysis and classroom discussion. • Preparation of teaching notes and learning objectives. • Techniques for facilitating interactive case discussions. • Publishing opportunities for quality teaching cases. Prof. Puri conducted highly interactive sessions enriched with practical examples, real-life business cases, and group discussions. Faculty members actively participated in the deliberations, raising relevant questions and sharing their classroom experiences. The hands-on activities enabled participants to understand the process of converting real organizational situations into effective teaching cases.
