The Inaugural session started in the presence of Director – UG & IT, Dr. Sunil Pandey Sir, BCA Course Chairperson Dr. Vidushi Singh, BBA Course Chairperson Prof. Aadil Khan, BBA Coordinator Prof. Amit Sharma, BCA Coordinator Prof. Ravi Govil ,Training& Placement Manager Ms. Divya Gupta & Placement Coordinator Prof. Amit Singh. The objective of the Program was to holistically prepare the students for upcoming placement drives. Day 1 (06/09/2022) After the ceremony, first session of PREP 2022 began, which was takenby Prof. Munna Mishra on the topic “Art of developing learning appetite”. He emphasized on becoming a learner throughout the life, as lifelong learners are individuals with an everlasting yearning for learning. He quoted an example from the Harrapan civilization. Knowledge is redundant and we need to upgrade it from time to time was the objective of this session. Overall, it was a very interactive session. Session 2 was taken by Prof. VivekPachaurion the topic “Developing Right Attitude for Interview Success”.He began thesession by discussing importance of carrying a positive attitude and how attitude is superior to knowledge and skills. He talked about importantinterviewetiquetteswhich create first impression during the interview.He also discussed about common job interview questions and how to deal with negative thoughts that may sabotage our interview. Overall, the session was very insightful and informative. Content was well organized and focused on practical situations. Day 2 (07/09/2022) Mr. Kaptan Singh Panwar took the session on “Aptitude( Reasoning)” and discussed on tips for making the square & Cube of a number, tricks to the solve the question on clock and number series also. Such aptitude questions are included in all exams to measure the student accuracy of calculations, mental numerical ability and logical formula application.These concepts will assist in the resolution of the campus placement eligibility test. Ms. Divya Gupta took the session on“Elevator Pitch” and discussed the tips & tricks for effective Introduction in an interview. Also, she discussed about the right body language & addressed students’ queries related to it. Students were highly enthusiastic and participate in the session. Prof. Sanjay Sharma took the session on “DBMS”. He introduced the concepts of DBMS; different types of DBMS, Types of Keys and Functional dependenies. The students were actively listening and learned about the basic concepts. His session was concluded with MCQ round by Google form. The students enjoyed all the sessions and understood the role of effective communication, Aptitude and DBMS plays in IT sector. Prof. Munna Mishra took the session on Negotiation Skills. He discussed about the types of negotiation skills & what factors are included for effective negotiation. Session was highly interactive & concepts were explained using real life examples. Prof. Shilpi Rana took the session on Professionalism & corporate ethics. She introduced the topic with an interactive activity & explained the benefits of professionalism and various aspects with the help of activity’s feedback. Day 3 (08/09/2022) Mr. KaptanPanwar took the session on Aptitude (Quant), which focuses on how to evaluate an student’s cognitive prowess and mental ability related to academics, vocations and careers. The topics discussed during this session are Number Series, Arithmetic Aptitude, Digit Sum, and Unit Place Digit. This also includes simple methods for calculating matters of hard division and prime factors calculation. It will help in building the quantitative skills along with logical and analytical skills in the students. Prof. Neeraj Kumar Jain took the session on C programming. The session covered the foundation of the C programming language that will enable students to crack their technical interview. The topics under discussion were Operators, Stack, Loops, Swapping Concepts, File Handling, etc. He also covered most of the frequently asked questions in the placement drive. He too taught about the source code, the object code and why C language is a middle level language. It was an excellent session. Ms. Sushma Singh, ICT certified trainer from Barclay’s. She discussed the Concepts of Goal settings. How goals are required to be “SMART” and later, she explained the concept of SWOT analysis related to goals. Also, she discussed the importance of conflict management skills & negotiation skills using real life case studies. To build students’ confidence, she motivated them to write one negative thing they want to release & paste it on the board. Day 4 (09/09/2022) Prof. Abhay Kumar Ray took the practical based learning on Android Development. In Today's world, everything is shifted online and also most people are more user-friendly with mobile as compared to desktop and PC. Prof. Abhay Kumar has given the complete overview of android application development to the students. He started his session with certain mind blogging questions related to Android. Further he told the students about the Android Versions starting from 1.0 to 13.He explained the features of Android very elaborately. He told the students about Linux Kernel, Libraries, API’s, Application Frameworks, Android Runtime Environment and then he explained step wise process of Creating an Android Project. At the end he gave an assessment to the students through google form. Dr. Rohit Kumar took the session on PHP. He started his session with explaining the difference with HTML and PHP. Further he told the students that in 1994 it was known as Personal homepage and when it became popular it was known by Hypertext Pre-processor Language. He told that PHP is a widely-used, free, and efficient alternative to competitors such as Microsoft's ASP. He introduced the students with the architecture of PHP and explained programs to the students so that they can know the flow along with syntax and semantics of the language. He gave a complete overview of the operators and conditional statements. He further gave students some programs for practicing the concept. At the end of the session, he gave 20 assessment questions to the students through google form. Prof. Sushma Singh continued her session by introducing the concept of design thinking & divided the students in the team to create a project on the same. Students came up with very interesting ideas & asked a lot of questions. Later in the day, she introduced the concepts of team building and briefed them the concepts using practical exercises & activities. The session was very interactive & students enjoyed it. Day 5 (12/09/2022) Prof. Varun Arora took the session on the subjects C++ and JAVA. He explained the reason why C++ was created from C and all the core features of C++ with their explanation. Later, he explained the basics of JAVA. Students got introduced to new terminologies and main features like object oriented programming language, robust, secured, portable, etc. Also, he executed some of the basic java programs. Overall, the session was very informative. Session on Data Structure was taken by Prof. Monika Kansal. Students learnt about the basics data structure and its algorithms. She also explained the types of data structures in detail like array, applications of array, stack, operations in stack and their application. She introduced the concept of trees, binary search tree and its representation. The session was very insightful and informative from placement point of view. Prof. Sushma Singh briefed the students about the Do's & Don't of Interview skills & Group discussion& assisted students on how to create an effective resume. Later, she conducted practical mock sessions of Group Discussion & personal Interview. Day 6 (13/09/2022) The Guest who took the session was from Barclay’s, Mr. Keshav Bhatia. This is all about overall personality development and Soft skills for technical students. In this session he tells the students about the difference between hard and soft skills, IQ and EQ and how we work on to improves Personality. He told the students to work on their behavior, confidence and presentation skills. The session was all about Interview and PI. In this session he discussed about what question is asked by the Interviewer during the Interview Process and how to answer them. He also presented the students how the interview Process is conducted with the role play activities. The students learnt lots of Interview skills during the session. Later, he discussed about the resume building skills, what point should be highlighted and what should be included. The student raised many query related to resume building and was answered. All the students were enthusiastic during all the sessions and learnt lots of things related to Personality development, soft skills, Interview, PT and Resume Building. Prof. Kanika Tandon took the session on Marketing, where she discussed all the concepts related to product development and their promotion in the market. She discussed all the important aspects of marketing by quoting practical examples from the industry. All the students enthusiastically participated in the session. Prof. Amit Sharma had an interactive session with BBA students where he explained the process of placements & what possible gaps could arise to earn a right opportunity for themselves. Also, he guided the students on various behavioural aspects. Students participated actively in the session. Prof. Munna Mishra took a session on “Dealing with New Topic in a Group Discussion”. He explained new techniques & strategies to the students on how to deal with surprise topics in a group discussion & how to create an impression using your little knowledge about the subject. The session was very useful & eye opening for the students. Day 7 (14/09/2022) Mr Keshav Bhatia continued the session by discussing about the goals, personality development and soft skills. In this session he discussed with the students how to set a goal in their life? He discussed 3 types of goals including short term, medium term, and long-term goals. After that he performed two activities with the students. First activity was the group discussion where he gave some topics to the students to discuss. In this student were divided into four groups and the discussions were made among the students. Second activity was about formation of communication through message passing. In this session Mr. Keshav was very interactive with the students. Prof. Yamini Negi took a session on Ms Excel, she taught the students how to represent data in tabular & chart form. Also, she discussed the about the formatting tools available to make the data easily readable & accessible. She taught about the commonly used formulas in excel & consolidation techniques. The session was highly informative. Dr. Sandeep Gargtook a session on Finance, he taught about the basics of finance & market. He also discussed about the investment opportunities available in market & explained them in great detail. He highlighted the importance of mutual funds & frequently asked questions in the interview related to this topic. Prof. Manoj Kumar took a session on “Career opportunities after BBA” where he explained the opportunities available to the students after BBA & guided them by explaining real industry scenario related to jobs. A session was full of questions & he answered them patiently. Day 8 (15/09/2022) Dr. Sunil Kr Pandey (Director, IT & UG Campus) took the session on Computer Organization and Operating System. He started the session with motivational and energetic welcoming of the students to the PREP learning modules. Hethrew light on why they should take the PREP seriously. He stated a program in C language and explained the background processing of the program in detail from high level stage of the program to the executable form, by connecting others subjects involved in the compilation, execution of the program. He told the students that each and every subject is important and how the student should interconnect them. He also stated that as a technical person, the student should know about each and every detailing of the program and the logic involved behind it. He motivated the students, so that they feel more connected towards the subject and think more logically and creative manner. Mr. Kaptan Singh Panwar took the next session. He started the session with enthusiasm to the aptitude learning and they taught the number system, tricks in number system, unit placing, finding cube and square roots, calendar base questions, assertion, statements, time and distance base questions. He motivated the students how reasoning and aptitude are important in placement selection process. He told the students to solve the questions in a frequent way. The students interacted with him and learnt lots of tricks. Ms Divya Gupta & Prof. Munna Mishra explained in brief the general Do’s &Dont’s of Group Discussion & Personal Interview. Then, they conducted mock group discussion & provided feedback to the management students individually on the basis of pre-defined parameters. Later, they took mock personal interview sessions where they asked all possible frequently asked questions & corrected students’ resumes on individual basis. Day 9 (16/09/2022) Guest session of Dr. Saroj was conducted on Supply Chain Management. She started with the relevant questions about the industry & explained the basics of supply chain management. She discussed the basic concepts using real life examples & motivated students to participate in the discussion. The first session was taken by the instructor Dr. Rohit Kumar who covered the following things in PHP programming like how to use loops and conditions in PHP. Explained the concepts like associative array and indexed array. Many lab examples have been discussed to execute the array and loop related problems. Simplest ways to apply the logic and tags in PHP Programming have been discussed. Ms. Divya Gupta& Prof. MunnaMishra have taken a mock session for technical students after discussing the Do’s &Dont’s of a Group discussion and a Personal Interview.Few topics mentioned during the Group Discussion were METAVERSE, Is Equality a myth,Technology is the death of creativity,and no one wins in a war, Night owl vs Early Birds,Smart Farming etc. In general, the body language and appropriate gestures have also been discussed in depth. Mock Personal Interview was conducted and questions like where do you see yourself after 5 years?Why we hire you? Strengths & weaknesses were asked. Sessions were very innovative and full of knowledge. Day 10 (17/09/2022) Mr. Harsh Goyal, Trainer- python from Barclay’s, he has discussed about the basics of python like what is python,features of pythons, input and output functions, etc. Thereafter, he executed some basic programs of python and the data types. He discussed about various types of data types in python-(list,tuple,set,int,str,range,bool,complex,float,dictionary). Thereafter, he asked students’ to execute programs related to thesedata types one by one. He had discussed about the sets, range, tuple, and complex. He also discussed about the relational operators & conversion of words into sentences.The session was very interactive, learning and resourceful. Dr. Saroj continued her session on supply chain management where she asked students to solve case study on the basis of concepts shared in the previous session. She awarded students on the basis of their contribution in the class. Students were very participate in the session. A comprehensive assessment was conducted for management students to acknowledge the take aways of the PREP program. Day 11 (19/09/2022) Mr. Harsh Goyal continued the session with frequently asked questions related to python, which can be asked during the interview. He has also discussed some projects related to python that can be used in real life situations like climate controller, traffic detection, etc. Later in the day, he discussed about loops in detail where he introduced the concepts of “for loop,& do while loop.” Day 12 (20/09/2022) Mr. Harsh Goyal continued the session with questions & concepts discussed in the previous sessions.He also introduced the working of python in android & web development environment. He explained the projects in details with the application of python. Also, explained the use of Kivi and Django in python.Later in the day, he took students questions related to python.Overall session was very interesting,interactive and informative. Day 13 (21/09/2022) Prof. K.P Singh took the session on “Networking”, he started the session with the basics of networking & discussed about LAN, MAN & WAN. He continued the session with the detailed explanation of network devices like hub, gateway, routers and switches. and he explained the concept of topologies, OSI layer concept & TCP/IP in networking. He also discussed the working of cloud computing & the process involved. Overall session was very informative. Students are then asked to appear for comprehensive assessment where 100 questions were given & time allocated to complete the assessment was 45 minutes.
