The objective of the visit was to provide an exposure to the students regarding innovations and how they are incubated. The purpose was also to make them understand the process that a start-up goes through from ideation to execution. The IEDC Head Mr. Sudhanshu Ranjan explained about Incubation centre and the incubation process that consists of three stages - pre-incubation, incubation, and post-incubation. Pre-incubation activities include tenant selection and promotion. Incubation activities are divided into three stages, namely the early stages, development, and advanced stages. He also explained in great detail about the various policies of Government of India under which a start-up founder can apply for funds for prototype development, seed funding and the grants for running the incubation centre with curated ideas. Later, Mr. Shubham and Mr. Samiruddin both alumna of ITS, innovators and Founders of BigBlare Technologies Pvt. Ltd took the students to a visit of the incubation centre that had many innovative machines and equipment on display built by the engineering students. The innovations on display were Air Purifier made with waste products, Rice Chaffing machine, a Solar powered Sugarcane juice extraction machine, robo cleaner for high rise buildings, Blood Sugar detection machine without blood extraction, physiotherapy machine, rice age determination machine, portable EV battery charging console, ELMO an EV, remote operated driverless tractor, etc to name a few. Many of these products have received grants for commercial production and have been winners at start-up meets. The visit was very informative and was an eye opener to the students of IIC since they came back with great zeal and enthusiasm for developing their own start-ups. On Day 1, 45 students were accompanied by Dr. Yamini Negi & Dr. Neerja Anand- IIC Coordinators and on Day 2, 40 students were accompanied by Prof. Saroj Kumari & Prof. Ankur Sharma.
